Project: Towards a research network in the Social Sciences and Humanities in Karnataka (2012-2014)
The Flemish Interuniversity Counsil (VLIR-UOS) has awarded a project (South Initiative 2012) to the Research Center Vergelijkende Cultuurwetenschap from Ghent University.
This project will enable the creation of a research network in Karnataka, building on the experience of the Centre for the Study of Local Cultures (CSLC) at Kuvempu University.The creation of the CSLC was the result of a previous VLIR-UOS project.
Objectives:
The project will create a network of researchers at universities and colleges in Karnataka, which will participate in rejuvenating and decolonizing the social sciences and humanities in the region and meet the local demand for scientifically informed debate on societal issues.
The research network will emerge through a range of activities: workshops, expert classes, lecture series, national conferences, research an dissimination activities
